This workshop is a time to get yo hands dirty & play with some good old mother earth. As you learn more about pottery, you learn more about how to control your hand movements and the clay. You develop confidence and you understand the stages of making a pot and the importance of working “right”.
You begin to see the beauty that is enclosed in any vessel, in a rounder motion, in a shape of a spiral, in the material and in a form. And even more so, you learn the art of controlling and surrendering. Through coiling and/or slab making, this course will allow you to dig deep (metaphorically) within your own creative world. You will be guided to invent your own sculptural vessel ie vase, planter, bowl etc Its an all levels experience, from simple forms to grander shapes. Its your story.
Breathing in a bit of the philosophy, learning how clay works & feeling the mud slide ride. The kind of experience any clay lover can take home to meditate with.
You will receive a full day of tuition on hand building (learning form & function), a soulfully nourishing lunch cooked by the beautiful Ebony, clay, glazing and firings. If the kiln gods are shining, you will take home 1 or 2 completed pieces after firings are complete.
